As part of my treatment approach, I sometimes employ the technique of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). It is an approach to treatment that focuses on stimulating the brain to process previously insufficiently processed disturbing memories. EMDR has been used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, low self-esteem, addictions, eating disorders and impulse control problems. Please read through the following handouts to learn more about EMDR.
If we have agreed to incorporate EMDR in our treatment plan, the following documents will be useful for our work together: Please only complete these documents after we have discussed them.
*It is best to use the Timeline of Significant Events as a model for you to replicate it in a word processing document and use that as an ongoing document that you will maintain and add to over time.
